ɫ��ɫ also saw gains in diversity, according to admissions statistics for the university system and campuses that were released today (July 11).

ɫ��ɫ Admits More Than 39,300

The ɫ��ɫ, significantly increased its admission of California residents as it offered freshman and transfer admission to a total of more than 39,306 applicants from the state and beyond for fall 2016.

With major increases among Chicano/Latino admitted students, the campus also made progress toward its goal of being designated a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI).

Campus prepares for large influx of students in 2016-17

The campus is marshaling its efforts and resources to accommodate 2016-17 enrollment growth of 1,100 new undergraduates beyond last fall's entering class.

The campus is responding to targets that UC President Janet Napolitano set under a plan to increase systemwide enrollment of new California undergraduates by 10,000 over the next three years, including 5,000 freshmen and transfer students in 2016-17.
