Anyone passing through the Quad at ɫ��ɫ this week would be hard-pressed not to think about the nation’s service members, thanks to the work of volunteers who tied dozens of yellow ribbons around trees Monday (Nov. 4).

The campus community is invited to honor the nation’s veterans next week as Veterans Day expands into Veterans Week through a series of events hosted by the Veterans Success Center.

Yellow Ribbons Bring Message of Support

Yellow ribbons have returned to the Quad, signaling the university’s support for veterans and Veterans Day (Nov. 11).

Some 15 people gathered yesterday (Nov. 6) for a campus tradition that is more than a decade old — tying yellow ribbons around nearly every tree on the Quad.

The event had to be rescheduled to later in the day because of the morning rain, but staff from the Veterans Success Center, along with other Aggies, were able to complete their task.

ɫ��ɫ is continuing to show its support for the growing community of veterans on campus.

This morning (Nov. 4), 18 people volunteered to tie yellow ribbons around the 100-plus trees of the Quad in the traditional symbol of Veterans Day remembrance — an increase over last year’s volunteer numbers.

For six years we’ve arrived on campus the week of Veterans Day to see all of the 100-plus trees on the Quad adorned with yellow ribbons, put there by our veterans — students and staff members.
