WarnMe Test To Include Earthquake Drill Oct. 16

Wanna shake things up some? You can experience a simulated 7.0 magnitude earthquake before the campus tests its WarnMe emergency alerting system during the Great California ShakeOut next week.

The California Office of Emergency Services, or Cal OES, will bring its shake trailer to the West Quad on Monday, Oct. 13, on its tour to promote earthquake safety and the ShakeOut drill coming up at 10:16 a.m. on Oct. 16.

WarnMe Message Sent in Error

A campus WarnMe message sent today (Aug. 21) as part of an active shooter exercise was inadvertently sent to some recipients without being labeled as a drill.

ɫ��ɫ promptly sent a follow up Aggie Alert to all employees and students correcting the error. We apologize for any distress caused and we are reviewing how this came about.

Police Activity in Parking Lot

ɫ��ɫ police issued a WarnMe alert on July 9 just before 7 p.m. after a vehicle pursuit by the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office ended in parking lot 56A, near the Genome and Biomedical Sciences Facility building. A suspect was placed in custody and there was no threat to the campus.

Police activity concluded at 8:45 p.m.

WarnMe Test on April 30

ɫ��ɫ will test its emergency notification system at noon Wednesday, April 30.

WarnMe messages provide information and directions regarding emergencies that pose an immediate threat to life and safety. Aggie Alert messages, sent using the same system and contact information, provide notification about events on and around Davis campus facilities that may cause disruption to normal activities.

City of Davis Police Advise Public To Avoid Area Near Community Park

The city of Davis Police Department is currently on scene at Community Park, 201 East 14th St., investigating a reported shooting. Please avoid the area due to a heavy police presence until further notice.

The park is about a mile north of the ɫ��ɫ campus. There is no credible threat to campus.

WarnMe Test on Jan. 29 To Introduce New Feature
